Family Planning Health Services, Inc. (FPHS) is a private, non-profit, community based, confidential reproductive health care provider in Central Wisconsin. Incorporated in 1973, the agency was formed without stock and not-for-profit and operates under the policies of a volunteer Board of Directors. FPHS provides services to anyone and everyone regardless of age, income or marital status.

fphs' Mission

To promote the health and knowledge of women and families throughout their lives... To improve the lives of generations to come...because knowledge about sexuality is better than ignorance... and because prevention and health promotion are the best means to a healthier future.

Family Planning Health Services, Inc. provides high quality, affordable and accessible reproductive and nutritional services to women and their families. We serve women and their partners in need by providing low-cost contraceptive care. We provide young people with confidential reproductive health care as well as sexuality education for prevention and treatment. We help pregnant women in need of prenatal care and nutritional education, and their young children who need nutritional food supplements. We promote ideals that knowledge of sexuality is preferable to ignorance and that prevention and health promotion are the means of achieving our purposes for people of all ages and incomes. Our mission embraces an ongoing commitment to gender equity, community health promotion and community progress.

The agency grew from the time of incorporation in 1973 to the present and now provides reproductive health care services in seven Central Wisconsin counties: Adams, Juneau, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage and Taylor. FPHS provides WIC services (Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children) in Langlade, Lincoln and Marathon counties. Other programs incorporated include Early Identification of Pregnancy (EIDP) and Prenatal Care Coordination (PNCC) as well as reproductive health exams for women covered by the Wisconsin Well-Woman Program (WWWP).

Board of Directors - the FPHS volunteer Board of Directors consists of professional and non-professional representatives from the seven county Central Wisconsin area. Representatives come from the fields of medicine, law, education, finance, local government and private citizens.
