Women Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC is a federal program for pregnant and breastfeeding women,
infants and children that provides nutritious foods and nutrition education.

Meeting the Family’s Needs

  • Nutrition and Health Assessment
WIC clinics routinely screen participants to
assess eating habits and growth patterns.
Education is provided based on the findings of
         the assessments.

  • Foreign Language Services
The WIC program has Spanish and Hmong
         speaking paraprofessionals to facilitate easy
access to services for our Hmong and Hispanic
         communities.
  • Gateway to Health
WIC is able to connect participants to community programs and
services to improve the lives of their families.

  • Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program
Every summer, WIC works with local Farmers’ Markets to help
families purchase fresh produce. This provides nutritious foods for
families and additional revenue for farmers in our communities.
